Being Sound in Salford

As part of our social value programme we’ve been looking at how we engage with schools and college students. We recognised that our industry will only succeed long-term if we invest time now helping the talent of the future come through.

There has been much improvement on diversity and inclusion over the last few years, which is really great, but there is much to improve. As a team, we’re especially concerned around socio-economic diversity, and giving those furthest removed from employment, opportunities in marketing and media.

Our Be Sound Project is our own way of trying to help on this. We’re working with a social change facilitator Noisy Cricket on the wider project, which we’ll update on here as we go. For now we wanted to get stuck in. Like many other things, Covid derailed this project to a large extent, so it hasn’t been as hands-on as we would have liked.

We were therefore delighted to recently be invited to speak to some local college students based in Worsley, Salford. We were tasked with engaging the students as part of their employability programme which provides students with a rounded introduction to the world of work.

It’s our duty as a forward looking business to stand for more than just profit. Conscientious Sustainable Regital, is all about how we can do more to help people, protect the planet, and work together with our clients and partners to change the world (in our own little way), for the better.

The team eagerly threw their hats into the ring to give a talk on all things digital marketing but also to give the students practical careers advice. We were keen on providing an insight into our sector and business, but also the career paths of the team, from leaving school to standing in the lecture room today. They discussed the range of career opportunities within the business and the sector, and then shared some transferable employability skills.

The team delivered a stellar presentation, and we gained some valuable insights into how our proposition translates outside our industry jargon heavy normality. We’re keen to engage on other similar projects in the future, and have already been invited back to deliver this again. Which is sound.

Be Sound is a core component of our social values programme, that we’ve badged Conscientious Sustainable Regital.

It’s our duty as a forward looking business to stand for more than just profit. Conscientious Sustainable Regital is all about how we can do more to help people, protect the planet, and work together with our clients and partners to change the world (in our own little way), for the better.

Regital has a proud reputation of giving back. We’ve always tried to do the right thing by our people, our suppliers and by supporting charity. Being honest, we haven’t always been good at formalising or communicating this. We’re starting to change that. Being Sound is a value at the very heart of our culture. The global pandemic has reminded us all of the importance of being sound, every single day. We’re more aware than ever of our community, the power of kindness, and the value of collaboration to tackle society’s biggest problems.
